A City on the Rise

Calaca’s 3rd Cityhood Anniversary was a testament to a city on the rise, where talents, opportunities, and community pride converged in a day full of celebration. From career opportunities to musical performances, from stars on the stage to the cheers of excited residents, the festivities showcased the city’s growth and the unstoppable spirit of every Calacazen.

 

The celebration began with the 3rd Cityhood Anniversary Job Fair: Careers for the Rising City of Calaca held at the Calaca City Gymnasium. The event brought 1,154 job openings from eight (8) companies which were directly accessible for the locals seeking employment. The activity was in partnership with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO). Beyond employment, the job fair offered free Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) trainings through Skillstech Batangas and 3BO institute of Technical Education Inc., while government services from PhilHealth, SSS, and PSA/PhilSys provided health, social, and civil registration assistance. The job fair epitomized the city government’s unwavering commitment to fostering economic prosperity and institutional excellence, providing Calacazens with the necessary tools and opportunities to thrive.

 

The Cityhood Anniversary Program held on September 6, 2025 at the Nasa Gawa People’s Hall featured the strides and developments the City of Calaca was able to accomplish in the past year through the Ulat sa Bayan delivered by the city’s beloved visionary, Mayor Nas Ona which. This served as one of the highlights and emphasized transparency, good governance, and inclusive growth. The theme of the cityhood commemoration, Threefold Strength: Calaca City on the Rise—Economic Vitality, Institutional Excellence, Infrastructure Innovation, is very apt a representation of Calaca City’s accomplishments, more so in the past three years.

Part of the program also was the celebration of the Civil Service Commission Anniversary. Select LGU Employees presented a special number reflecting the dedication and service of public servants who work tirelessly behind the scenes for the city’s advancement.

 

The celebration was graced by notable guests and leaders, including Regional Director Ariel O. Iglesia, CESO III, whose presence and underscored strong partnership between local and national leadership. The message of the Guest speaker, Hon. Joseph Victor “JV” G. Ejercito inspired hope and collective action, encouraging every Calacazen to continue striving for excellence and unity.

 

The ceremony also featured the Awarding of Plaques of Recognition and the Recognition of Top SMEs, honoring individuals, partners, and local enterprises whose contributions significantly fueled the city’s economic growth. To cap off the cityhood 3rd anniversary celebration, celebrity guests lit up the Calaca City Gymnasium. The evening event featured a star-studded lineup of talents whose lively performances, heartfelt songs, and engaging interactions kept the night alive while highlighting the city’s cultural vibrance and unity.

The 3rd Cityhood Anniversary of Calaca was not only a commemoration but a feature of progress, opportunity, and community spirit. This significant city-wide event reminded everyone that its strength lies in its people—the Calacazens—whose talent, dedication, and pride continue to write the story of a city on the rise.
