APAT ANGAT: Calaca City Celebrates Four Years of Continuous Progress
News & Events | by City of Calaca
CALACA CITY — Four years after officially becoming a component city, Calaca marked another milestone with “APAT ANGAT!”, a celebration of the city’s continuing growth, stronger public service, and shared aspirations for every Calacazen.
Bearing the theme “Apat na Taon ng Tuloy-Tuloy na Pag-Angat ng Calaca,” the anniversary celebration highlighted the four pillars that have guided the city’s development and the programs that continue to bring government services closer to the people.
The celebration began with a Thanksgiving Mass at the NASA GAWA People’s Hall, bringing together city officials, employees, community leaders, program partners, and Calacazens in gratitude for the milestones achieved during the city’s first four years.
Four Pillars, One Direction
The main anniversary program formally opened with an audiovisual presentation introducing the four pillars of APAT ANGAT—representing the interconnected areas of development that support Calaca’s long-term progress.
In her welcome remarks, City Administrator Cristina A. Perez underscored the importance of collective effort in sustaining the city’s transformation. The celebration was made even more memorable by a special performance from Sendhara Trillanes, World Champion Vocalist of the World.
Through the Ulat sa Bayan audiovisual presentation, the City Government showcased the programs, accomplishments, and major developments realized under the leadership of Mayor Nas Ona.
In his inspirational message, Mayor Ona reaffirmed that Calaca’s progress is measured not only through buildings, projects, and awards, but more importantly through the lives improved by responsive and compassionate governance.
The occasion also featured the launch of the NASA GAWA Action Center, a major step toward making public assistance more accessible, coordinated, and responsive. The center embodies the City Government’s commitment to turn the concerns of Calacazens into clear, timely, and concrete action.
Building Partnerships for Calaca’s Future
The anniversary celebration was graced by Atty. Cyris Ann Ng-Santiago, representing Hon. Rizalina “Rizza” G. Blanco-Latorre, Executive Director of the Public-Private Partnership Center of the Philippines.
The guest message highlighted the important role of strong partnerships in advancing transformative projects and creating new opportunities for sustainable urban and economic development.
A plaque of recognition was presented to the guest speaker in appreciation of the PPP Center’s support for Calaca’s development goals.
The City Government likewise honored its top business and real property taxpayers, recognizing their vital contribution to the delivery of public services and the continued growth of the local economy.
Progress Felt Across Communities
The anniversary activities extended beyond the main program through initiatives that demonstrated how Calaca’s progress reaches different sectors of the community.
The Angat sa Edukasyon Exhibit held at the Calaca Senior High School highlighted the city’s continuing investment in education and the future of young Calacazens. Exhibit booths were also featured for Angat sa Teknolohiya, Angat sa Gawa at Angat sa Imprastraktura pillars.
These activities reflected the heart of APAT ANGAT: progress that is not limited to infrastructure or institutions, but is experienced directly by students, workers, families, farmers, fisherfolk, volunteers, and communities throughout the city.
Four Years Stronger, Moving Forward Together
Calaca’s fourth city anniversary was both a celebration of accomplishments and a renewal of its commitment to the years ahead.
In only four years, the city has laid stronger foundations for responsive governance, improved public services, inclusive opportunities, and long-term development. Yet APAT ANGAT also serves as a reminder that the city’s transformation is a continuing journey—one built through the collective effort of its leaders, employees, partners, stakeholders, and people.
As Calaca moves forward, its direction remains clear: to pursue progress that is inclusive, sustainable, and felt by every Calacazen.
Apat na taon nang lungsod. Apat na haligi ng pag-unlad. Tuloy-tuloy ang pag-angat.
APAT ANGAT! TAMA ANG GAWA!
