First-Year CROWN Maintenance Award

The Calaca City Nutrition Committee, under the leadership of Mayor Nas Ona, has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the well-being of the Calaca community through its diligent efforts in promoting healthy living.

At the concluded Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony held at the Acacia Hotel Manila in Muntinlupa City on December 15, 2025, the City of Calaca was honored as the Outstanding Performer and a National Contender for the First Year Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition (CROWN) Maintenance Award for the entire Region IV-A. This award is presented to the local government unit that persistently enhances the nutrition status and mitigates malnutrition.

On behalf of City Mayor Nas Ona, the award was received by Dra. Sharon V. Ona, City Health Officer, together with Mrs. Cristina A. Perez, City Administrator, and Ms. Winnie Ann B. Magsumbol, City Nutrition Action Officer. 

As the First Year CROWN Maintenance Awardee, the city is required to enhance its performance for two consecutive years to qualify for the Nutrition Honor Award (NHA), the most prestigious recognition bestowed upon a local government unit by the National Nutrition Council (NNC).

The health programs implemented by the Calaca City Nutrition Committee are truly impactful and exceptional, with the objective of combating and eliminating malnutrition and fostering a healthier Calacazen community.
