The City Government of Calaca has taken a major step toward shaping its long-term future through the Calaca City Master Development Plan, developed in partnership with Palafox Architecture Group, headed by the premier architect Felino “Jun” Palafox Jr., one of the country’s leading firms in architecture, urban planning, and sustainable development.

At the heart of the plan is the transformation of the City Government’s 17-hectare property into a modern, integrated urban development center envisioned to become a new center of governance, commerce, recreation, mobility and community life.

More than a collection of buildings, the Master Development Plan establishes a clear and unified direction for Calaca’s growth. It considers how government facilities, public spaces, transportation systems, commercial areas, and community destinations can work together to create a city center that is functional, accessible, and prepared for the needs of future generations.

The proposed development brings together major components such as a colosseum, convention center, aquatic center, hotel, Olympic-standard sports facilities, central park, grand transport terminal and commercial areas. These facilities are carefully planned within one connected district, providing Calacazens with better access to government services, livelihood opportunities, public transportation, sports, recreation and cultural activities.

Green and open spaces form an essential part of the plan. The proposed Central Park and landscaped public areas are envisioned as welcoming places where families can gather, communities can connect, and citywide events can be held. Walkable spaces, organized traffic circulation and thoughtfully positioned facilities will help create a city center that is both people-friendly and efficient.

The development is also expected to support Calaca City’s growing economy. New commercial spaces, hospitality facilities, transportation links, and venues for conventions and large-scale events can generate investments, create jobs, and open more opportunities for local businesses. By integrating economic activity with public infrastructure, the plan seeks to build a development center that remains active, productive and beneficial to the community.

Guided by the expertise of Palafox Architecture Group, the Master Development Plan balances ambition with sound urban planning. It provides a framework that will allow projects to be developed in phases while ensuring that each component remains connected to the city’s broader vision.
