Cultivating Every Calacazen’s Creativity - City of Calaca

A festive and colorful parade welcomed the month of February as the City Government of Calaca launched the second character trait Creativity (Pagkamalikhain) wherein teachers and students from DepEd Calaca, assigned Barangay Functionaries and Officials and the rest of the Creative Team collaborated as they showcase the imaginative minds through clothing designs made from recyclable materials. Dr. Ronwaldo Endozo, a successful Calacazen teacher, was introduced as the guest speaker in the program. He then shared how his creative thinking opened up better opportunities, more options and ways of looking at problems differently. A beautiful and fitting story with the month’s theme, “Sa bawat problema makakaahon. Nasa pagkamalikhain ang solusyon”

Throughout the month of February, various activities have been planned by the Creative Team to highlight the importance of one’s Creativity in our daily lives.

During the first week and in celebration of Autism Awareness Month, a SPED Children Painting Exhibit was launched at the City Gymnasium and extended its displays at the school building in the Calaca Central School. Donation Boxes were placed where viewers could donate any amount or acquire the paintings and the collections would go straight to the beneficiaries, the SPED children. This is proof that creativity is not limited to the able-bodied but extends even to those who are mentally impaired. A Creative Photo Booth made out of recyclable materials produced by selected barangays and schools was also on display in the venue throughout the month. An Online Spoken Word Poetry Competition was also initiated for all Calacazens. This allows everyone to speak their hearts and express themselves while emphasizing the month’s theme through a video presentation.
