Hon. Michael Jones Salazar
City Councilor
As a student, Coun. MJ was a consistent honor student and graduated as valedictorian in elementary and received leadership awards in high school and college. Before being elected as a Councilor of the City of Calaca, Coun. MJ was a two-termer Barangay councilor in Barangay Lumbang na Bata. He also used to work for Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation where he was an Ace Employee of the Year in 2007, a prestigious award given to highly exemplary employees.
While being a then municipal councilor, he authored the Ordinance No. 17-323 or the “Ordinance Imposing an Environmental User Fee on the Use of the Municipal Waters of the Municipality of Calaca”. He also authored Ordinance No. 22-446 or the “Ordinance Enjoining all Applicants Securing a Certificate of Live Birth or Marriage License to Plant a Tree in their Backyard or in Designated Planting Areas”. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Calaca, Couples for Christ, and GP II Anti-Crime Salong Chapter.
Now as a City Councilor, he heads the Committee on Housing and Land Use, Committee on Labor and Employment, and Committee on Market and Slaughterhouse.
