Ang Pagsibol ng Bagong Pamilyang Calacazen | Kasalang Bayan 2024
Valentine’s Day this year falls on Ash Wednesday, which last happened in 2018. Despite this coincidence, the City of Calaca did not let it become a hindrance for loving couples as it went all out to unite them as one, sparing no expense.
Kasalang Bayan 2024 with the theme “Ang Pagsibol ng Bagong Pamilyang Calacazen”, was one of the platforms of the City Government of Calaca for unmarried couples to get married without the burden of expensive wedding fees. Forty-nine (49) lovely couples tied the knot during the mass wedding ceremony on Valentine’s Day at the City Auditorium.
Through the collaboration of the Local Civil Registrar and other offices, this event was successfully conducted and marks its second decade this year. The event started with the entrance of all the couples, followed by the official wedding ceremony, which was initiated with a prayer led by Mr. Allan C. Gatdula, Market & Slaughterhouse Supervisor. The program continued with the Opening Remarks of Mrs. Cristina A. Perez, City Administrator, followed by the ceremony officiated by the City Mayor, Hon. Nas C. Ona, Jr.
This initiative sets a significant step towards promoting a society that values family, love and commitment. Together, the couple will create solutions to any of life’s challenges. Apart from the trait of Creativity (pagkamalikhain), these new families are also encouraged to live by the traits being promoted under the Character City Program. With these character traits, every Calacazen family is an active partner of the City of Calaca in adhering to positive beliefs and actions, a true embodiment of its program’s slogan, “Tama Ang Gawa”!
