NASA IMIS GANDA program
The NASA IMIS GANDA program is a comprehensive, progressive and integrated initiative that aims to promote cleanliness and sustainability in Calaca City. The primary objective of the program is to identify and support effective, efficient, and sustainable clean and green projects (3PAs) at the grassroots level, specifically in the barangay. However, to achieve its environmental objectives at a deeper and more sustainable level, there is a need to cultivate values among its citizens to align their behaviors and preferences with environmental practices that would support its primary goal.
Inculcating values in an environmental program involves integrating ethical principles, responsibility, and sustainable practices into the program’s objectives and activities. There is a need to create an environmental program that not only addresses specific issues but also fosters a culture of values that promote long-term sustainability and responsible environmental stewardship.
The program aims to mobilize the barangay sectors and encourage community engagement to achieve significant solid waste reduction/diversion, improved waste collection, visible beautification (clean & green) and a healthier environment for people and the ecosystem. The program also aims to encourage desirable character traits that uphold a value system that prioritizes environmental preservation as a core value for every Calacazen.
