News & Events | by City of Calaca
The vision of establishing a world-class hub for all Calacazens has been realized and is now taking shape.
After officially acquiring a 17-hectare land in Barangay Camastilisan on October 1, 2025, the City Government of Calaca envisions the land to be the future site of the Calaca Mega Urban Development Center—a proposed central hub for the city’s dynamic development.
As a milestone achievement, city officials convened to engage in a meeting with PALAFOX Associates, spearheaded by the esteemed Architect Felino “Jun” Palafox, Jr. Renowned for his exceptional contributions to architecture and urban planning.
The 17-hectare property is designed to be an inclusive and comprehensive hub of lifestyle and commerce, showcasing a colosseum, a convention center, an aqua center, a hotel, central park, an Olympic-grade sports center and arena, a grand terminal, and a commercial business strip.
The transformation extends beyond this point. As numerous construction and building developments are currently underway—a testament to progress—new facilities are being designed to enhance the daily lives of every Calacazen.
In a significant demonstration of unity and Tama ang Gawa governance, the City of Calaca officially commenced the groundbreaking ceremony for the future residence of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Batangas Chapter–Calaca City Branch. This facility is part of the development of the National Government Center— a hub intended to house many government agencies and centralized public services.
The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Batangas Chapter–Calaca City Branch exemplifies the city’s unwavering commitment to emergency response and humanitarian assistance. Once completed, this branch will become the leading center for compassion and disaster readiness, providing essential life-saving assistance to the residents of Calaca and surrounding areas in Western Batangas.
In alignment with its advancement as an established city, a new two-story Schools Division Office (SDO) building is nearing completion, situated within the National Government Center at Lumbang Calzada. The newly constructed office is designed to enhance administrative services and ensure the delivery of high-quality education to learners by providing them with improved learning resources and efficient support. This initiative aims to create a brighter future for all Calacazens.
Furthermore, Calaca City has also received the LTFRB Region IV-A’s Notice of Compliance (NOC) for the Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP), which is a significant step toward the transformation of the city’s local transportation through modernization. This move allows the
Sangguniang Panlungsod to create new routes for cooperatives and corporations that meet the criteria through the necessary ordinance, which ultimately leads to a public transportation system that is safer, more efficient, and convenient for all the Calacazens.
As our city grows, expanding its horizons, it calls for a more efficient and responsive public service for every Calacazen. The construction of the New City Administration Building is now underway, a four-story modernized building with a basement. This will house various departments of LGU Calaca to help them operate better and work more efficiently to deliver public services. This project is a big part of the Tama ang Gawa mantra—improving facilities to give every Calacazen a holistic improvement in their daily lives.
The rise and developments are more than just a construction of buildings; this will serve as the foundation of the city’s continued progress. All these facilities aim to centralize and elevate public services, making sure that they are efficient, accessible, and meaningful for every Calacazen.
