- Formulate measures for the consideration of the Sangguniang Panglungsod, and provide technical assistance and support to the mayor in carrying out measures to ensure the delivery of basic services and provision of adequate facilities;
- Develop plans and strategies and upon approval thereof by the mayor, as the case may be, implement the same, particularly those which have to do with veterinary-related activities which the mayor is empowered to implement and which the Sanggunian Panglungsod is empowered to provide;
- Regulate the keeping of domestic animals;
- Regulate and inspect poultry product for public consumption;
- Enforce all laws and regulations for the prevention of cruelty to animals;
- Take necessary measures to eradicate, prevent or cure all forms of animal diseases;
- Be in the frontline of veterinary related services, such as in the outbreak of highly-contagious and deadly diseases, and in situations resulting in the depletion of animals for work and human consumption, particularly those arising from the aftermath of man-made and natural calamities and disasters;
- Recommend to the Sanggunian and advise the mayor, as the case may be, on all matters relative to veterinary services which will increase the number and improve the quality of livestock, poultry and other domestic animals used for work or human consumption; AND
- Exercise such other powers and perform such other duties and functions as may be prescribed by law or ordinance.

City Veterinarian
Biography
Following graduation from Cavite State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008, she completed internship and was absorbed as Junior Veterinarian at BV Seda Animal Care Clinic. Thereafter, she ventured to put up her first clinic– Animals at Home Veterinary Clinic–with colleagues. Being a Licensed Veterinarian in 2015, she put up AAV ANIMAL CARE CLINIC AND GROOMING CENTER in Calaca, and another one in Balayan called PLAYWIDPAWS ANIMAL CLINIC AND GROOMING CENTER. Both clinics have been around for 7 years up to present. Being an animal doctor, time management and dedication to her field proves to be her strongest suit. In her journey as a veterinarian, she feels fortunate to bridge the gap between humans and animals with the trust that the animal owners show. Her passion for the welfare of animal has only grown stronger. She aspires that in the future, she can leave a legacy in Veterinary Medicine.
