The Office of the City Mayor is mandated to perform the following: exercise general supervision and control over all programs, projects, services and activities of the city government; enforce all laws and ordinances relative to the governance of the city and in the exercise of its appropriate powers as well as implement all approved policies, programs, projects, services and activities of the city; initiate and maximize the generation of resources and revenues, and apply the same to the implementation of development plans, program objectives and priorities; ensure the delivery of basic services and the provision of adequate facilities; and exercise such other powers and perform such other duties and functions as provided under the Local Government Code of 1991 and those that are prescribed by law or ordinance.

CITY MAYOR, CITY OF CALACA

Biography

Mayor Sofronio “Nas” C. Ona, Jr. of Calaca City, Batangas, is a visionary leader who transformed the city from a third-class municipality to a first-class city through his commitment to good governance and accountability. His leadership extends beyond politics, with involvement in organizations like the Boys Scouts of the Philippines and the Philippine Red Cross, embodying a dedicated public servant shaping Calaca’s future.

With about fourteen years of service in the government, Ms. Salvador has performed the duties and functions of an Executive Assistant in various offices; the most recent in the Office of the Mayor in Calaca, Batangas. She has been integral in the planning and implementation of various government programs for the benefit of the community. She is a graduate of BSE in Sociology and spent seven years imparting her wisdom as a Special Education Teacher.
Mr.-Ruperto-P.-Noche-Jr.-Executive-Assistant-IV
Having served in both the legislative and executive branches, Mr. Noche’s passion in serving the Calacazens contributed to improving the quality of life in Calaca. He was a Municipal Councilor for eight years from 1972-1980, and was elected as the Municipal Vice Mayor in 1980, wherein he served for six years. He was appointed as Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member from 1976-1980. From 1995-1998, then from 2004-2019, he held the position of Municipal Administrator and was appointed as an Executive Assistant in 2019 up to present. Mr. Noche is a graduate of BS in Business Administration at FEATI University.

The ingenuity of Mr. Avendaño is a big contribution in promoting the culture and beauty of Calaca. He was designated as Tourism Officer and acts as a Consultant for Culture and the Arts. One of his noteworthy achievements was when the Municipality of Calaca received numerous awards and recognition at the Ala Eh Festival—a celebration of the founding of the province of Batangas. He was a consistent awardee of said festival for nine (9) years. In addition, under EA Rene’s creative vision and supervision, Calaca garnered awards also during the Aliwan Festival in 2011. He used to be part of the Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. At present, he is the Executive Assistant involving the celebrations/festivities and other related programs of the City Government. He was assigned in the beautification project of the City Hall, as well as one of the organizers of the Calacatchara Festival. He is also the focal person for city-wide pageants like the Binibining Lungsod ng Calaca, Ginoong Lungsod ng Calaca among others.
